I am writing to pass on my thanks for the wonderful buffet you prepared for my father’s wake. The hot soup was very much appreciated as it was an extremely cold day. Many thanks to all staff concerned who were very helpful. The venue was perfect for us to meet with friends and family.
I would like to welcome all the ladies that took part in the Ladies Academy over two weekends recently which was very well attended. I went along to support at the second session and was so impressed by the enthusiasm and skills that the ladies had already learnt in a short period of time.
Both Alex (our Professional) and Baz Smith along with other volunteers spent their time giving tips and helping by giving advice on chipping and putting as well as the driving of the ball . .. I am here to support all new lady members and am available to go out with new members at any time convenient to them in fact I am looking forward to going out to play with 2 new ladies tomorrow for 9 holes.
Following on from that I would like to invite you all to the Ladies Christmas Lunch on Tuesday 4th December 12.30 for 1pm at the clubhouse where you can meet nearly all of the Lady members. Please do let me know if you wish to attend the cost is £14.00 for a 2 course meal and we bring along a secret santa (value no more than £5) on the day.
It would be great if you could make it and equally lovely to see you all again.
Lady Captain 2018/2019
It has been quite a year for March Golf Club. We have seen the implementation of a new fee structure which offers more affordable golf to younger members and I am pleased to report that we have experienced a significant growth in the number of members.
We have also seen the creation of both a junior and ladies academy, both overseen by our resident PGA professional, Alex Oldham. Both Academies are thriving under the expert tuition of Alex and with the enthusiastic assistance of current members who give up their time to help.
We are very proud of these achievements and look forward to continued success in 2019 and beyond!

The following day saw a smaller than normal turnout for the annual Lombard Qualifier with the winner accompanying Alex to Thetford Golf Club on the 28th June for a fourball better ball PGA event with the winners there going to Portugal.Inline image. Young Lewis Hearn enjoyed first place with 38 stableford points with John Church second on 35 points and third Steve Parrish on 34. Strangely enough in wonderful conditions and with tremendous putting surfaces the scores were not as good as we normally experience. Sadly Lewis cannot make up the “dream pairing” so John will go with Alex. Having secured his place thanks largely to a half hour lesson with Alex this week, John is relishing the upcoming event – that most players describe it as “simply the best experience I’ve ever had on a golf course along with playing a “PRO” event!”
