Alex is one of youngest Club professionals in Great Britain and was one of the youngest persons in the country to pass as a fully qualified PGA Professional. Prior to becoming the Head Professional at March Golf Club in August 2004 he was for seven years Assistant Professional at Meltham Golf Club, Huddersfield where he built up a good reputation as a Teaching Professional and is continuing that at March. He started playing golf at the age of 13, joining Meltham Golf Club as a Junior and by the time he left Holmfirth High School at 15 he was playing off a single Handicap of 3. In September 1998 he set a new course record at Meltham of 67 (-4) and in October 1998 became the Club Champion. He has also had successes in competitions in the Halifax, Huddersfield and West Yorkshire area.
