Happy Christmas members from your Golf Club Professional and co ordinator.
The last one of the year and what a busy one it has been, it has flown by.
Firstly I have to give a heartfelt thanks from me for your custom but more importantly your moral support and friendship, not to mention kindness and understanding on occasions. I would not be in such “reasonable state” if it wasn’t for a lot of you. Dinners, texts, phone-calls, emails, cards. I can now call so many of you “friends”.
Moving on, a heck of a lot is being organised behind the scenes and some of our volunteers are doing some amazing things. Fiona, Lewis and Alan are all involved with the newly launched academies, which I am grateful for but I must mention Baz for his constant enthusiasm, passion, cajoling, etc etc which is reaping the rewards for our golf club currently.
To date, we have sixteen youngsters and ten (and counting!!) ladies coming to the academies. I must tell you that your club profiteers from this by way of a small membership payment and of course long term the goal is to increase the pool of golfers at our fantastic club. I look forward to working more with Baz and the new committee come the AGM on 13th December. I will see you there 7pm.
In the run up to Christmas I am scheduled to be here every day in December from dawn till dusk. I can print bespoke vouchers in nice cards (please give me some advance notice) and with todays technology you don’t even have to visit the club. I can post, email or deliver vouchers gladly – it’s the least I can do. Lessons, green-fees, shop credit – your loved ones account will be instantly credited so if the voucher is lost then its not the end of the world, the credit still stands – I don’t want to be shrewd like the high street!!
The pros Christmas competition will take place on Saturday 15th December and you are all able to play if you have a competition handicap. The sheet will go up before the weekend. 18 holes individual stableford.
In my shop I have taken a few photos to whet your appetite for Christmas. I have some various older model Cobra hybrids for just £69 each as well as drivers and fairways all at a discounted price. A full colour range of Wilson DX2 Optix at just £19.00 per dozen and our most popular ever item of clothing at £40.00 (Pro quip mens quarter zip top). Ive just stocked up on Footjoy Contour Fit at £99 (rrp £125) and have a large range of Lynx product in – particularly wedges – the Nickel Predator wedges are just £40 and the Tour version £79.00.
Offer of the century has to be the Motocaddy electric trollies. £449 for an s3 pro (was £499) with a lithium battery with a free pro series bag worth £159 is worth thinking about if you are in the market. I can pretty much promise there will never be another offer quite as good as this. Pop in and take a look at the one I have on display.
Finally, regripping is from as little as £4 per club including clean, repsiking is from £10 including clean and polish, and my most unbelievable offer is a full set of clubs cleaned for just £2.00. Yes thats £2.00 for the whole set or sign up for the year at just £35.00. In the meantime, I’m looking forward to the festive period, loving coming to work and also eager to get back to Turkey in February (again!!) – if you want to come just chat to me in confidence.
Seasons Greetings, Alex
