Greens Update April 2019
A change in our Greens Committee Structure
It is with sadness that I inform you that Lewis Ogden has decided to step down as Head of Greens, due to challenges and time constraints with his own paid employment. He has committed to stay on the Board as an active member, which in itself is proving to be a welcome commitment. I would like to express my own gratitude to Lewis for even attempting to take on this more than challenging role so early on in his Committee tenure.
With this in mind, I request that the membership allow us a little breathing space as myself Baz Smith and Lydia Molyneux share the Head of Greens role between us.
Just this Wednesday evening, the Greens Committee have been out on the course to assess what we need to address with the Greenkeeping Team and what will require some help from our Volunteer Project Team.
The Greenkeepers have been extremely busy over the last couple of weeks and you can see plenty of evidence of this on the course. Unfortunately, Mother nature has not been kind to us, with expected rain (weather forecasts can they ever be trusted?) not materialising until last night (Saturday). I have yet to venture out to see if this has had any affect on my own garden let alone our lovely golf course.
Lydia and I are due to have our next update meeting with Sean early on Thursday this week. As I wrote earlier please can you be patient whilst we are in this transitional hand over and we will continue to strive towards the goals set by Lewis.
If you happen to have any feedback, questions or indeed advice you would like to impart, then I request that you use the correct channels of communication and allow the Officers of the Club to enjoy their leisure time as much you do.
