Ladies Annual Coffee Morning

The Ladies held their annual coffee morning to kick start the golfing season on Tuesday 5th March where Lady Captain Sandra Russell spoke about her charity for the year which is the Lullaby Trust www.lullabytrust.org.uk.

The Lullaby Trust raises awareness of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), provides expert advice on safer sleep.

To raise money for this charity there was a cake sale, raffle and other fund raising events and the total raised  on the day for the charity was £152.

Thanks to all the lady members who contributed and supported this event. We are now looking forward to the start of the season and a good golfing year.

Bike Ride for Charity

I am also going to do a sponsored bike ride around Grafham Water (approx 16km) in the summer. There are sponsorship forms up on the notice boards please give generously I hope to complete as many km as possible on the day.

Lady Captain Report January 2019

Well, here goes the first report as Lady Captain……  Firstly I would like to let you all know that my charity this year is The Lullaby Trust (to find out more about their work please look on line www.lullabytrust.org.uk/‎.

In order to raise as much as we can this year I have been granted the bunker on the 6th as my charity bunker so please give generously by putting some loose change into the collection pot that is on the bar in the club house.

We, us ladies, have been playing our usual Tuesday 12.30 roll up and it has been really well supported with between 15 and 20 ladies turning up.  We play a our fun 9 hole competition that runs throughout the winter months. We are trying to encourage the new lady members and those that can make it from the Ladies Academy to join us when they can.  Our season will be starting soon with the first friendly matches (ladies & mixed) starting in March.

It would be great to see more men taking part in our mixed friendlies this year and to try to encourage more we will be starting with breakfast first at 10.00am with the first tee time being 11.00am on Sundays.

I look forward to seeing more names down on the sign up sheets which will be appearing shortly.

Ladies Academy Update

I would like to welcome all the ladies that took part in the Ladies Academy over two weekends recently which was very well attended. I went along to support at the second session and was so impressed by the enthusiasm and skills that the ladies had already learnt in a short period of time.

Both Alex (our Professional) and Baz Smith along with other volunteers spent their time giving tips and helping by giving advice on chipping and putting as well as the driving of the ball . .. I am here to support all new lady members and am available to go out with new members at any time convenient to them in fact I am looking forward to going out to play with 2 new ladies tomorrow for 9 holes.

Following on from that I would like to invite you all to the Ladies Christmas Lunch on Tuesday 4th December 12.30 for 1pm at the clubhouse where you can meet nearly all of the Lady members. Please do let me know if you wish to attend the cost is £14.00 for a 2 course meal and we bring along a secret santa (value no more than £5) on the day.

It would be great if you could make it and equally lovely to see you all again.
